Is retiring in an RV is perfect for you?

“Living the dream” is a phrase often heard among the RV crowd. This dream becomes a reality for thousands of people who choose to spend at least a portion (if not all) of their retirement traveling by motorhome. Moving to a warmer climate to live out our last years in paradise is not a new idea. The Recreation Vehicle Industry Association estimates that between 100,000 and 200,000 people are making their RV their home, at least for an extended period of time. Imagine the ability to travel from destination to destination without ever having to unpack. That is the beauty of traveling by RV in retirement. Despite the fact that an RV lifestyle lets you hike the famous trails, see a bit of history firsthand, and visit the state and national parks, until current television shows began to focus on traveling in an RV, the question often asked by friends and family when hearing the “retiring to an RV” announcement, is "Why?" Some still wonder what you could possibly do to fill your

RV Living Transition Tips

When Mr. DCeo and I decided to move in to an RV and travel the country, we really didn’t know what we were doing. We weren’t sure where we would go, how we would get there, or even if our setup was going to be able to make it out of the state of Arizona. The one thing that I think we had a pretty good idea on, though, was that it was going to take some extreme organizing to downsize from a 2700 square foot house into about 150 square feet of RV living space. Luckily I love to organize, and had a blast coming up with ideas to make sure that we were able to neatly fit everything we thought we would need into the storage spaces we had available. What I didn’t realize at the time was how important those organizing tactics were going to be when we transitioned back out of the RV. When we started our journey, it was going to be for an indefinite amount of time, so moving back in to our big home wasn’t even in our minds. When we found out I was pregnant, the plan had to be adjusted. We are b

Tips to learn about full time rv living

It is always interesting to look back over the past years to see what we have learned after choosing to live an unconventional lifestyle of life on the road. When we first set out on this journey of full time RV living. I don’t think we were really looking at it from a learning and growing perspective, but more from an adventure standpoint. It sure has been one crazy adventure, but it has also been unbelievable how much we have learned about each other, our family and how we want to live our life. We want freedom. Freedom to sleep in, freedom to travel, freedom to set our own schedule. Full time RVing gives us that. What we weren’t prepared for is that with freedom comes a lot of choices when you live on the road. RV living wellness tips for healthy living

When you think of health and wellness, what first comes to mind? Maybe it’s following a specific style of eating or regularly attending a gym. Maybe it’s finding ways to get involved with your community by attending church or volunteering for a cause you care about. Of course, all of these and more are pieces of a well-balanced, healthy lifestyle. And they’re also all associated with, well, staying still.
